The girls hockey team put their talent on display on their home sheet of ice against the Hudson Raiders on Dec. 6, 2025. The Spartans went into the game with a 1-1 record, losing in their season opener at home against Hayward and taking the win against Moose Lake the following week. 

The Spartans scored quickly in the first period with senior captain Addy Benson walking around the defense and scoring a goal in the middle of the first period to put the Spartans on the board. This was Benson’s third goal of the season and was assisted by senior defenseman Michaela Geissler and freshman forward Lila Sislo. 

Benson scored again for the second goal of the game, with a shot from up close, the Raiders’ goaltender unable to stop it. The goal had assists from Freshman Nora Madsen and junior PaisLee Lystig.

Freshman starter Nora Madsen was hot this game scoring the third goal of the night; this being her very first varsity goal. A big scuffle in front gave Madsen an opportunity to put the puck in the net. With an assist from Lystig, the Spartans went up with a 3-0 lead against the Raiders.

The Spartans capitalized on a powerplay with a goal coming from junior assistant captain Aaliyah Haroldson, with assists from Benson and Madsen, to end the period with a 4-0 lead. 

The Raiders started out the third period scoring a goal within the first couple of minutes with an unassisted goal from Laura Johnson (18). 

The Spartans scored for the last time of the night with a goal from junior forward PaisLee Lystig with another assist from Madsen, her fourth point of the night. The Raiders added their last goal, coming from Nora Milchak (10), with assists from Marley Larson (24), and Cora Chiodo (25). 

The Spartans came out on top 5-2 as Madsen ended the night with four points on the score sheet with three assists and a goal, making her the player of the game for the Spartans.
