The lights came up, the Purple Rain fell, and the stage was set for the opening Foxtrot to “I Wanna be your Lover.” Dancing With The Stars held its semi-final competition themed ‘Prince Night’ on Nov. 18, 2025.
Out of 176 students polled, 48.5% of students that watch DWTS are rooting for Australian animal conservationist, Robert Irwin, and his partner Witney Carson. Junior Kellsey Allen is among this 48.5%.

“Robert has gotten really good at dancing, especially his contemporary tribute to his father,” said Allen.
Robert Irwin has been a fan favorite amongst this season, and it is clear why. He has shown immense dedication to the show, and his growth has been apparent. Week after week the audience sees the work he puts in, and the judges see it too. From jazz, to beautiful paso dobles, and even jives Irwin has done it all.
“I am walking a path my sister forged,” Irwin shared in the semi-final episode.
Irwin’s sister, Bindi Irwin, won the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy in season 21. She has been seen in attendance at every episode this last season, rooting for her younger brother. She even made an appearance during dedication night in Robert Irwin’s dance, creating a deeper emotional resonance with the audience.
Tim Delnay, the choir teacher, is also rooting for Robert Irwin. He has been watching Dancing With The Stars since the first season came out in 2005.
“I thought he (Irwin) always had good charisma and charm and I think that’s part of it too,” said Delnay.
Not only is Robert Irwin’s charm radiated, but the people feel his genuine dedication to dance, and the sincerity of his family adds to his appeal to the people.
Be sure to tune in to the Dancing With The Stars finale on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025. Watch on Disney Plus or ABC to see Irwin and the other contestants compete for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
