Spartan senior pitcher Mason Larsen came in during the 6th inning, facing seven batters and striking out five propelling the Spartans to a win.
Superior surrendered two runs at the top of the first inning. After a pitching change to junior Owen Blomfelt he let up one early run before him and Larsen combined for a six inning shutout. Blomfet threw 65 pitches and struck out 3 batters.
On the offensive side the Spartans were led by Senior Lucas Androski going 2 for 3 from the plate.
In the bottom of the sixth inning the Spartans rallied for 3 runs with clutch hits from Sophomore Calvin Anderson, Senior Andrew Melgeorge, and Sophomore Jace Rue, giving them the lead going into the top of the seventh inning.
The Spartans will travel to Cloquet High School to face the Lumberjacks on April 16.
