The Spartan girls’ season came to its end on Feb. 23 at the Spartan Arena. The girls took on the Appleton East Patriots who ranked at the eleventh spot in their section. Despite the Spartans’ sixth seed ranking, they were defeated 64-49.

In the loss, senior guard Eva Peterson had 25 points and seven rebounds, while senior forward Kloe Zentkowski had 12 points and six assists of her own. On the other side, the Patriots had three different players scoring in double figures en route to their Regional Semi-final win. Junior guard Lilly Meulemans scored 23, and freshman forward Ella Sweeney had an efficient night with 19 points as well.

The Patriots went on to compete against the Neenah Rockets the following day, where they fell in defeat 69-50.

Superior’s senior Eva Peterson (23) walks off the Spartans arena court for the last time after the Spartans’ 64-49 loss in the regional semi-final.
