Boys hockey advances to Regional Finals

Boys hockey played the Ashland Oredockers at home winning 7-1 on Feb, 13, 2024 

 

The Ashland Oredockers scored the first goal of the game 24 seconds into the first period. The Spartans made a comeback with sophomore forward Brady Haroldson scoring one out of his two goals of the night. The second goal of the first period was made by junior forward Hunter Hanson, ending the first period 2-1.  

 

In the second period, four goals were made by the Spartans. Hanson scored his second goal of the night in the beginning of the second period. Then, junior forward Braydon Hurtig got two goals back to back. Following Hurtig’s goals, sophomore defenseman Rylan Davis scored the last goal, ending the second period 6-1.

 

In the last period, Haroldson secured the final goal of the night resulting in a final score of 7-1. 

 

Senior goalie Trent Peterson ended the game with 39 saves. 

 

The team will advance to the regional final game at 7p.m. on Feb. 15, 2024 against Eau Claire Memorial Old Abes at Eau Claire’s Hobbs Municipal arena. 

Sophomore forward Brady Haroldson skates down the ice for a chance to extend the lead against the Ashland Oredockers. Haroldson scored two goals in the game: one in the first period to tie the game up and one in the third period.
