Green Bay Packers pay a visit

By Lily Holmquist, Reporter

On Thursday, April 13 the Green Bay Packers made a stop in Superior, as a part of their Tailgate Tour. Current players Aaron Jones and Elgton Jenkins, as well as former players Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Eddie Lacy, Davon House and Evan Smith, joined on the tour around Wisconsin. The team paid a visit to the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center, where Spartan Singers went and sang the national anthem for the invite-only veterans’ event.

After departing from the historical center, the Green Bay Packers stopped at Superior High School, where students were called down for an assembly. Although the visit was intended to be a surprise, it would seem the word got out, as Packers gear was spotted throughout the crowd. Students were also called up to have a Q&A opportunity with the members of the Packers, with a couple lucky ones managing to get autographs while doing so.

“Honestly, I thought [the assembly] was about the Silent Day, or something like that, or about bullying. So, I really didn’t expect the Packers to come.” Sophomore Kadence Robinson said.

The Packers’ Tailgate tour brought the team all around Wisconsin, looking to make as much of an impact as possible in each of the communities they visit.

Packers get settled and ready to answer questions from students on April 12 in the Spartan Arena.
