Junior Avery Waletzko has been a stand out gymnast all throughout the 2025-2026 gymnastics season.
Last Saturday, at Eau Claire Memorial High School, junior gymnast Avery Waletzko made history for the Superior Spartan Gymnastics team. For the first time in many years, a Spartan gymnast is headed to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) State Tournament.
Waletzko made it to state in the individual event of balance beam scoring a 9.025. All year Waletzko has competed with grace and tenacity.
9.025 is a high school personal record for Waletzko, previously being a 8.7 from last year’s Icicle Invite at Rice Lake High School.
