January has officially come to an end, and as we walk into February, there are many highly anticipated movies releasing. Going to the movie theaters has been one of my favorite traditions, even as a child. There is just no other feeling like being in a theater, becoming mesmerized by the screen and making memories. Whether you’re with family, friends, or just by yourself, watching a movie is usually a great time.
I also love to talk about movies in general, it’s one of my biggest passions. Here are four movies coming out this month I am looking forward to watching:

4th: Crime 1O1
Starring Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry, and releasing Feb. 13, this film follows a Los Angeles Detective (Ruffalo) on a pursuit to catch an elusive thief (Hemsworth) who teams up with an insurance broker (Berry) for one final heist.
From the trailers that came out with this movie, it looks like an intense heist movie, and the cast looks very promising. I’m not too crazy about heist movies, but this one looks different enough to where I am intrigued to see if the film leads to a captivating experience, or if it’s completely lackluster.

3rd: How To Make A Killing
Starring Glen Powell, Margaret Qually, Ed Harris, and releasing Feb. 20. Disowned at birth by his wealthy family, Beckett Redfellow (Powell) will stop at nothing to reclaim his inheritance, no matter how many relatives stand in his way.
I have grown to appreciate Powell as an actor more and more, with Top Gun: Maverick being his rise to fame, he is one of my favorite actors of the recent decade.
As for A24, their movies are hit or miss. Sometimes they come out with a gem of a movie, and other times their movies make me question what I just watched. Nonetheless, I’ve seen enough from the trailers to know this is right up my alley.

2nd: Epic/Elvis Presley In Concert
Releasing Feb. 27, this documentary features never-before-seen footage and recordings featuring Elvis Presley in concert at his Las Vegas residency during the later stage of his career.
Theater debuted documentaries don’t happen as much as they used to, but I was a big fan of the Elvis biopic from 2022, and this has the same director from that movie, so I am already very intrigued. This documentary highlights one of his Las Vegas concerts that you can not find on the internet and will be the first time someone would be able to see the footage that wasn’t already at his concert.

1st: Scream 7
Starring: Neve Campbell, Isabell May, Mckenna Grace, and releasing Feb. 27. After Sydney Prescott (Campbell) leads a new quiet life in Indiana, the infamous “Ghostface” killer once again emerges from the shadows targeting her daughter (May), forcing Sydney to confront her upsetting past before it’s too late.
The Scream franchise is one of my favorites in film history. The intensity and terror the films bring to its viewers is something not to be taken for granted.
Although the production of this movie has gone through some heavy controversy through the firing of their lead actress from the past two films, Melissa Barrera, and supporting actress Jenna Ortega leaving the film, fans are still willing to go into this movie with an open mind, just to enjoy another Scream movie.
Although I might not be able to see every single one of these movies when they come out in theaters, rest assured there are some heavy hitters. Definitely highlighting “Scream 7” and “How To Make A Killing”. Once again I’m a huge fan of the Scream films so I need to see how this one is going to turn out, and I am a big fan of Powell as well, so I’m really looking forward to his next movie.
