Q: How long have you been competing in gymnastics?
A: 15 years.
Q: So you started when you were 3 years old?
A: Yes.
Q: How has gymnastics impacted your life?
A: It has increased mental and physical toughness.
Q: How have you seen the increased mental and physical toughness improve areas of your life?
A: I’m able to overcome more challenges with a higher determination to do so.
Q: Have you struggled with keeping motivation to play the sport, especially since you’ve played for so long?
A: During club I definitely struggled with motivation, however moving into high school it’s been easier to stay motivated due to the shortened season with less out of season practices.

Q: What is your favorite memory from gymnastics?
A: My favorite memory from gymnastics is all of the long bus rides and team sleepovers we had.
Q: How have the friendships made from gymnastics impacted your life?
A: The friendships I have made from gymnastics have positively impacted my life by making me excited for practices and meets, helping me grow and become a better person, and has helped me find some of my best friends.
Q: Do you play any other sports?
A: I am also a swimmer.
Q: Does your other sports affect either, positively or negatively, how you compete and perform in gymnastics?
A: I think swimming positively impacts me while doing gymnastics due to the endurance and strength I build during the season. It keeps me in shape for gymnastics and allows me to spend more time at gymnastics working on technique.
Q: Have you ever thought about going to college for gymnastics or any other sport?
A: I never thought about doing gymnastics in college, however I did think about swimming in college for a short period of time. I decided not to due to wanting to focus on my future career and meeting new people while in college.
