The Superior girls’ varsity basketball team played against Hudson in the SHS gym yesterday, with Hudson walking away with a 53-42 victory.

Junior Niya Wilson led the Spartans in scoring, contributing 13 points. Junior Kaileigh Miller added 10 points and junior Izzy Swanson had 7.

“We all played our hardest. During first half, they got a run on and got ahead,” Miller said. “While we fell apart, we did a good job.”

Superior fell to 6-7 (4-2 Lake Superior Conference).

“I am satisfied with our effort today, We gave it our best effort,” said Wilson. “What brought us down was them gaining the lead and us falling out but we played well. I am proud of my team.”

JV lost 36-32, falling to 1-12. The C-Team won 34-24, improving to 10-1.

The girls’ JV and varsity teams will play at Duluth Marshall on Jan. 22.
