The school forest has been a great hands on way for students that attend Superior Public Schools to tie what they are learning in the classroom to real life situations. Part time biology teacher and School Forest coordinator Lori Danz is now excited to announce updates at the school forest.

“There is a new wooden sign on Highway 53 making the School Forest easier to access,” Danz said.

The School Forest encourages students to help out with the development of the forest, including Senior Tyler Karren who made the new sign.

With the help of others, Danz has worked relentlessly to make way for new trails and paths for visiting students.

“We are currently expanding the school forest land coverage to provide more space for learning activities,” she said.

Danz enjoys working at both the high school and the school forest.

“I like being able to get to know my own students, but at the same time getting to meet new people on a weekly basis,” Danz said. “It’s the best of both worlds.”

There is an upcoming Fall Fest for kids and families on Nov. 10th.
