In the orchestra room, in fencing practice, and in the classroom, Dillon Blix convinces people to do better than they already are, he brings change and influence to everywhere he goes, and places he doesn’t even go.
Blix has been doing orchestra since middle school and is a part of four separate orchestras, including the Tri-M Music Society, and the highly contested state honors orchestra where almost 1,400 students auditioned for the five state ensembles, which puts him as one of the best violinists in the entire state of Wisconsin.
With Blix being an extraordinary violinist he is also amazing at the school orchestra, and he is also seen as a leader by many people, including the orchestra teacher, Ms. Eichers. Eichers always notices that Blix takes on leadership roles, including when he is the secretary for the Tri-M and helps run the meetings.
Yet another leadership role Blix brings to the table is being a part of the Douglas County Board of Supervisors as a youth member, so every month he has to bring a report of what is happening around the high school. At the Board he is also able to shake hands with powerful people, like politicians, and try to convince them about possible changes and solutions that could be brought, so there is a chance a change that happens at this school could’ve helped come from Blix.
Blix is also a leader in the Fencing club, where he is the main person teaching new people how to use the sword effectively, and encouraging those that already know how to fence to don their armor and do some sword fighting. Blix wants to bring more people into the club even if they just want to try it once and they don’t come back after that. “We have the time, we have the space and everything we need is there.”

The theater is yet another place Blix shines, as he is becoming more of an upperclassman he is also becoming more involved with it all, for example when he was teaching the sword fighting choreography to the cast of both Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo and Juliet.
Every morning every single person that is here by 7:55 has heard Blix’s voice as he does the pledge as well, so even if you didn’t know it was him, he has encouraged each person in this school.
Blix states that he enjoys being a person that others not only look up to, but is a source of encouragement and he wishes to continue improving himself so others will also do better and improve themself.
