Head football coach and gym teacher Robert Scott has been offering his time in the weight room to help athletes in the offseason.
In order to improve athletic performance, athletes need to stay in a constant cycle. Scott keeps them fresh and ready to go by having a plan for each day of the week. Scott schedules the workouts in sets of three. Another face often seen in the workout room is coach Jesse Falter.
“My favorite part about coming here is watching everyone develop into their best selves,” said Falter.
Along with Falter, there are many other coaches such as Aaron Anderson and Jesse Samarziya that are involved in planning and monitoring the workouts. Generally, four or more coaches are walking around the weight room to assist different stations and lifts.
“My favorite part of being in the weight room is the energy. I haven’t seen this room so energetic and noisy,” said Samarziya.
Lifting both before and after school has helped athletes to increase their athletic performance and muscle growth. High school athletes can attend every day after school, while middle schoolers are able to join on Monday and Thursday mornings.
