Both the boys and girls basketball teams were victorious at their home double header on Thursday Feb. 6. Both teams had the opportunity to cheer on one another making it a special game for all involved.
“They don’t happen very often so both teams can go support each other for at least one game,” said junior boys captain Drew Eisel.
The girls game began at 5:45 p.m with the boys game starting directly after at 7:15. This not only gave the teams a chance to catch each other’s games but also, their fans drawing in a bigger group of supporters.
“The atmosphere of the game is different, there are a lot more people there than typical games, it’s a lot easier to build off the crowd” said senior girls captain Tara Stratton.
Double header games can be an exciting event for everyone from players and coaches, to the fans because of how different the energy is compared to any other game in the season.
Overall both games ended in favor of the Spartans. The boys took a win over Marshall High School ending with a final score of 95-34. The girls team ended their game against Duluth East with a score of 56-49.
