Dear Santa
4.5/10 Overall, the first 15-20 minutes felt very boring. Scenes at the start felt awkward, and some parts of the movie were cringy. The start felt like a very cliche school movie, with the main character trying to impress a girl. Although, I do think Jack Black did an okay job and without him the rating would’ve been even lower. Some of Black’s lines did feel a little cringey and weird. Some jokes made in general I thought were funny, but the majority would only be funny for a younger audience. I would recommend it if you like kids movies, but if you’re not big on kid’s movies this movie is a skip.
Just Friends
I give this movie an 8.9/10. “Just Friends” is a film that came out in November, 2005 and stars Ryan Reynolds (Chris Brander) and Anna Faris (Samantha James). This film is a great comfort movie and gives off lots of laughs. Ryan Reynolds successfully showcases his famous charisma with his sarcastic and confident acting style while Anna Faris gives off annoying superstar themes with her character’s annoying personality. This makes a perfect christmas movie as it is very rewatchable and just makes it easy for the viewers to watch every year during the holidays. “Just Friends” may not be a classic christmas movie that is popular worldwide but it still gives off classic christmas movie themes that do just enough for you to want to put it on this holiday season.
Red One
I give this movie a 7.3/10. “Red One” is a movie that came out this year in November, 2024. It stars Dawyne Johnson (Callum Drift) and Chris Evans (Jack O’malley) being enemies that become partners. They have to work together to help save Christmas after Santa (Red) gets kidnapped with very creative fight scenes that I’ve never seen before. The storyline gives a lot of elements that all fit together to give the movie an exciting ending. “Red One” is a good movie if you get bored of the cliche Christmas movies giving you more action and excitement in a Christmas movie.
