The mandatory winter sports meeting will take place Monday, Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
Activities director Ella Olson will be going over the basics of the expectations and activities code. Olson will talk about the purpose, sportsmanship, and the code of conduct. Some of these expectations include grades, school attendance, transportation, and travel guidelines.
Additionally, athletic trainers Tanner Sterling and Megan Hautajarvi will give a presentation.
“It’s important that athletes know who we are and that we are there as a free resource for injuries, general medical issues, and first aid. At the sports meetings, we also cover concussion and return to play protocol. That way, they know what happens if they get a concussion,” Sterling said.
After the presentations, each sport will have a quick meeting that athletes and parents must attend. These meetings cover the first few days of practice and tryouts.
Winter sports include boys and girls basketball, boys and girls hockey, gymnastics, boys swim and dive, wrestling, dance and winter cheer.
