After getting cut from the Team Wisconsin U14 team, freshman Paige Lindberg worked to come back and prove her talent. Lindberg has been playing hockey since she was five years old. She has always had dreams of playing hockey at the next level. When she didn’t make the U14 Team Wisconsin team for the 23-24 season she had two options, give up on her dreams or work as hard as she could to make the team for the 24-25 season.
Lindberg decided she was going to work as hard as she possibly could. She wanted to be the best possible player she could be at tryouts for the 24-25 team. She believed the reason she didn’t make the team her first year tryout was due to her having a bad tryout, and that the other defensemen were better than her.
To prepare for tryouts, she decided she needed to work on her shot, as well as her power skating, so she trained at SAHA with skills coach Sean Storie. Storie has been training hockey players at SAHA for many years. During this time Lindberg also got lots of support from her dad Ryan Lindberg. All of her hard work and the support she received helped Lindberg overcome adversity and make the U14 Team.
“It felt good, because I went back and didn’t give up,” Said Lindberg.
Lindberg is currently in her Team Wisconsin season. She is excited for all the traveling she will do during her season, along with staying in the hotels with her teammates.
