Junior Austin Edwards has been collecting jerseys his whole life and with them has collected memories.
Edwards has felt connected to sports his whole life, in particular baseball, football and basketball. He has collected about 30 total jerseys from all three sports. Above all, he is a Vikings fan, Yankees fan, and a Bucks fan.
Edwards’ favorite jerseys include: Ray Allen’s throwback Milwaukee Bucks jersey, Johnathan Taylor’s Wisconsin Badgers jersey, Todd Gurley II’s color rush Los Angeles Ram jersey, Minnesota Vikings jersey, Stefon Diggs and Damion Lillard’s Rip City Portland Oregon Trailblazers jersey.
One of his favorite memories connected to his jerseys was when he went to a Vikings game on Nov. 27, 2023 with his dad and his dad’s friend. He wore his gray Vikings Justin Jefferson jersey that day.
Another moment Edwards remembers is the “Minnesota Miracle” when Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs scored a game winning touchdown in the final seconds of the NFC semi-final game on Jan. 14, 2018. He was wearing his Stefon Diggs jersey when it happened.
“Right before the play happened I was very frustrated because I had lost hope. Then when it happened I got pretty emotional. I was pretty young so I cried. Tears of joy, of course,” said Edwards.
Edwards plans to continue collecting jerseys from his favorite sports and athletes. He would like to expand his collection even more, as sports is one of his biggest hobbies.
