Senior Leif Peterson started her small jewelry business two years ago in her basement. She started making necklaces with materials like stainless steel wire, copper wire, glass beads, beach glass and agates.
As her small business grows, she has been looking to expand to the Good Garden Company and sell at craft sales like the Christ Lutheran Church Craft Sale. Her friend, senior Mallory Allen, suggested Peterson sell in community spaces.
“I have a necklace and it is quite nice, I wore it to fall ball last year,” Allen said.
Peterson also allows people to request pieces. Individuals can tell her an idea of what they want their piece of jewelry to look like and she will make adjustments as needed.
“I do commissions as well, people can tell me what they want me to make and I’ll sell it to them,” Peterson said.
Peterson has recently made an Instagram account to reach local people. The Instagram page shows pictures of her jewelry as well as other people modeling her jewelry. In order to buy something, you can directly message her through her account.
