The girls varsity golf team took on Cumberland and Grantsburg at the Spartan’s home course on Sep. 12, 2024. The girls were able to take home the win with a 25 stroke lead against the two conference teams.

Taking home the medalist honors, Senior Brynn Johnson shot a 42 featuring “A gorgeous birdie on the first hole” said Coach Ed Willie in a Facebook post. 

Following Johnson by 5 strokes was Sophomore Ellie Olson shooting a 47. The girls team was able to secure the top 4 spots among the other two teams leading the girls to a win. 

“I like that one (The south 9 holes at Nemadji golf course) a lot more than most of the others because it is super flat and straight,” Johnson said. “To mentally prepare for the meet I try my best not to think about it at all.” and “The more I think about it, the more I overthink and the worse I do when I go to tee off.” 

The Girls will travel to St. Croix Falls on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 for their next meet.
