When you think of Chad Postal and his 22 years of teaching, what comes to mind? For me, it’s his classroom humor and his relatability to his students. I believe he is one of the most influential people at our school.
When I was having issues with my grades and paying attention in class, I went to him. I remembered that he told us at the beginning of the year that he had problems with the same things in high school, so I felt like I could talk to him.
“I think being able to have open discussions with students is really beneficial,” said Postal.
It also feels like he really cares about his students and wants to build relationships with us to help us learn.
“I think there’s always going to be those students that you have in class who don’t like history or don’t like to write, but I think building relationships with them and building that trust with them is going to benefit them in many ways,” says Postal.
Postal also has a very unique teaching style. He wants his lessons to apply to everyone, so he uses a wide variety of methods to suit everyone’s personal style. Whether you work better in a group, on paper, or on the computer, it always seems like he’s having us do something different everyday.
Postal is a great teacher through and through, and I truly appreciate how he tries to apply his teachings to every individual student. You can have him as a teacher by taking AP World History or as a coach by competing in track.
