Senior Claire Farnham loves Kwik Trip mac and cheese, she wears bright colors, she’s on the forensics team, the mock trial team, the Harvard Model United Nations team, and excels in all of them. She also plays cello for the school orchestra. Even though she juggles so much, she always makes time for the people and things she loves, like art.
I would choose the word creative to describe Farnham. I have known her since sixth grade when we started playing in orchestra together. I’ve always known her as an artist. She’s always doing something creative, or writing something creative, wearing something creative, somewhere somehow she was always being creative.
When I first started on the forensics speech team, I was a little bit nervous and a lot a bit uncomfortable. Like many people when they start something new, I didn’t know what I was doing. But when I walked in I saw a head of curly red hair (well-kept, I might add), it didn’t seem so bad after all. Farnham not only brought me out of my shell, but she did it in a creative way that forced me out of my comfort zone.

Leah Gavin-Mentor
“I chose the word mentor because Claire has always been a massive part of my academics like my extracurriculars. She was in mock trial with me this year and she’s just always been super helpful with showing me how to do things and helping me whenever I ask. I think I probably asked her for help a billion times this mock season and she had literally gone into my document and corrected things that needed correcting. It was the most helpful thing ever and she never makes me feel bad or stupid. She’s very supportive and I’ve always looked up to her. I try to be the best little Claire Farnham I can. Being like her is the biggest compliment.”

Emily Reno- Dedication
“She shows dedication in a lot of ways, the first is that she’s always dedicated and determined to be a friend whenever she’s needed. Even though she has a million things going on at once she’ll always be there for you and be your biggest cheerleader. She’s also dedicated to being the best student as she takes challenging classes, and works so hard to get good grades. This involves hours of homework and studying on top of all the other extracurricular activities she’s involved in. Lastly, she’s authentically herself. She used her kindness and creativity and dedication in a way that is true to her and her values. I can say I’ve never met anyone as authentic as her. I just feel like she’s always there for me even when she’s so busy. She’ll take the time to be there for me or facetime me while she’s doing all her homework. She takes all the time that she has left to spend it with me or her other friends.”

Sam Brill- Impressive
“Claire just always has been an inspiration. She and I do a lot of the same activities, but she does them like 10 fold. I’m just so impressed by her work ethic. She was a captain of the Mock team, and captain of forensics, and then she did all this other stuff. And every single year I’m like holy crap, like how do you do all that? Like I feel like I have a lot going on but she has way more activities than me. She’s on the golf team, and every single year I’m so impressed with how she does so much and she’s good at all of it. It’s insane. Like she won best witness at state for mock which i was so impressed by. She won the award for HMUN (Harvard Model United Nations) and like every single time she does something phenomenal and like wow what an inspiration.”
