Science teacher Micheal Weinandthelps students feel like they belong and is always there to cheer them up.
In the hallways, Weinandt always says hello to people even if he doesn’t know them. He is always trying to spread kindness around the school on a daily basis.
“Spreading the smallest act of kindness can go a long way, especially if that person is having a rough day,” Weinandt said.
It’s the little things that can really make a big difference in a person’s day. During his classes, he likes to be sarcastic and tries to brighten the mood by always telling a dad joke.
“I like to put students in positions where they can ask questions and try to find something out for themselves,” Weinandt stated.
Freshman Trucker Marvel is in Weinandt’s fifth hour class. He thinks that Weinandt is an honest guy and that he tries to gain trust with students. Marvel thinks that Weinandt does an amazing job overall to make sure students have a person they can talk to when needed.
“I always want to make sure that I know them as people too and not just students. It goes a long way when you have them recognize that you’re a human being and not just a teacher,” said Weinandt.
Weinandt says that he tries to be very honest with the kids, and his goal is to let students know that he’s a person too.
