Junior Kiana Starstead is a very quiet and reserved person. I have noticed that she is really flexible to her surroundings, but in a general sense she is a practical and realistic person. I would describe her as hardworking and picky, which is good because it helps to keep her organized. A way that I have noticed her use these traits is when she makes notecards to keep herself organized while studying for tests.
Starstead has belonged to many athletic teams, like track, soccer, but participates in basketball for the majority of the year. She practices after school during winter and spring school months, while also juggling AP and advanced classes.
She is dedicated to maintaining social relationships while also being able to make sure she stays on top of her grades and athletics. She is able to keep a balanced life by keeping her priorities in line, and that is attributed to her hard work.
A friend and classmate of Starstead Ava Gudowski has seen her hard work first hand.
“She is always studying and focused during the classes I have with her, and is committed to her schoolwork.” said Gudowski.
I believe that she goes above and beyond when it comes to getting better at things. Starstead has shown she is open to new opportunities and trying new things. She has taken the opportunities given to her, such as joining new sports offered through the school, like track and soccer.
This year, Starstead joined the girl’s soccer team. It was her first time ever playing and she wasn’t all too sure of the basics, but she went and tried. I have seen her be supportive to those on her team and in games she gives it her best efforts, even if she doesn’t always succeed. She doesn’t let her lack of experience prevent her from trying new things.
Overall, Starstead tries hard to succeed. She is one of the most influential people in my life because she is understanding and committed to everything she does without giving up, and I find that inspirational.
