In a small quiet room outside a loud classroom, I wasn’t having the best day and Keystone teacher Bobbijean Gidley saw that. She could always tell if something was wrong. She offered to talk to me about it and I shook my head no, but I realized I should probably talk to her about the things on my mind.
I didn’t really think of her as a teacher that I could talk to about the things I was going through at the time, but when she offered to talk about it I came around to the idea. She listened and even asked questions of her own. It had helped me a lot and I was very glad that she was able to help me through it.
Gidley is influential, not just because she helped me specifically, but because she is willing to talk or listen to anyone about anything. She is willing to take her own time to talk with you. For example, my friends and I go to her advisory to talk about everything that has either happened or is going to happen that week.
