Spartan Wrestlers traveled to D.C. Everest High School to compete in the Division 1 Regional Tournament. Two wrestlers are moving on to the Sectional Tournament: freshman Versii Kavajecz at 113 lbs and junior Dominic Lyons at 215 lbs.
Kavajecz received a bye his first match, lost 5-2 in the second match, lost 10-3 third match, and came out on top in the fourth place match 3-1.
Lyons lost 10-6 his first match. In his second match he received a bye, third match he received a fall at 4:34 in the second period, then he pinned his opponent in the fourth place match at 4:36 in the second period.
Kavajecz and Lyons travel to Marshfield High School on Feb, 17. to compete in the Division 1 Sectional Tournament for their chance to participate in the Division 1 State Tournament at the Kohl’s Center on Feb, 24.
