Junior Aiden Pagnucci has the idea to initiate a project called “Project: Why Not?” He is advocating for students to attend more school events, not just the usual football and volleyball games.
Pagnucci plays soccer, swim, and tennis which are sports that don’t receive much attention other than the regular parent and occasional friend.
“Personally I do sports nobody goes to or attends but also I feel like there’s a big population of our school that does activities that flies under the radar that nobody pays attention to,” Pagnucci said.
The goal of Pagnucci’s project is to create awareness for every activity, not just sports. He wants to make sure the drama and music departments are as included as other activities. He feels this way because the drama program has a reputation of being one of the better in the area.

Though Pagnucci is working with his sportsmanship team and advisor Activities Director, Ella Olson, the group is making sure that it is known that all activities and clubs are included, not only sports.
“I am proud of him for creating this project, thinking about involving everybody, it doesn’t matter the athletic team or club,” Olson said.
Olson is optimistic about the results of this project and is eager to see the effectiveness of how inclusive Pagnucci’s project is.
In order for Pagnucci to have good results from this project, he is working on promoting it by presenting speeches at the assemblies, working with different SHS social medias, and making posters.
Pagnucci’s goal is for it to get enough awareness that it becomes a standard for the school even after he’s graduated.
“I am hoping it can set the standard for years to come. The standard should be, supporting everyone, not just supporting some people, everyone deserves support. With me starting this project I am hoping it can outlast me and outlast the people in our school right now,” Pagnucci said.
Pagnucci hopes for the project to outlast him, not end after he finishes his junior year and goes into his senior year. He is going to continue to advertise the project at assemblies and through posters enough so that the idea lasts for the rest of superior high school existence.
