Sophomore Allison Maki’s artwork is unique in its own way, especially when it comes to the design and the inspiration of the drawings.
Maki is a Sophomore and has been creating art for as long as she can remember. Her art style has developed and changed so much over the years, and the improvement in her style is tremendous.
As an artist, Maki spends a majority of her time evolving her style, slowly moving away from just the fundamentals of drawing. Because of the amount of time spent, she is constantly looking for ways to improve her style and gain new techniques, adding to both digital and physical art projects.

“I’ve been doodling since before kindergarten,” Maki said. “When I really wanted to improve was first or second grade, that’s when I started getting really into it.”
Inspirational foundations of her art include nature, animals, and video games. Taking a deeper look into the art shows how much impact these topics truly have in Maki’s art.
Maki spends all the time she can drawing. Sitting beside her in classes makes this apparent, she’s always working on another project. During free time, she will be spotted working on one of her many creations.
Although she usually doesn’t struggle with creating and finding inspiration, it still happens from time to time.
“Sometimes I’ll force myself to draw when I don’t want to,” Maki said. “But even when I do that, stuff doesn’t turn out how I want it.”
Maki says she usually will just wait out any creative block she experiences, and then she eases herself back into the routine of drawing and creating just as much as she did before. Maki always finds a way to get back into it, and better than ever before.
Maki continues to be an inspiration to both her peers and social media audience. Her artwork grabs attention due to her unique style and precise designs. Maki hopes to continue developing her style and be an inspiration to those around her.
