Allison Conley, also known as “Senora Conley,” has been a teacher for 20 years, starting just nine days after graduating from college. Throughout these many years she’s spent everyday making connections and meaningful relationships with her students.
“I love Spanish and I love to be able to share my love and passion for it with other students,” When asked why she decided to become a Spanish teacher, Conley said.
Conley was excited to become a teacher, and feels as if it has been a positive experience ever since.
Conley shared how students come back and tell her about the Spanish they’ve used in their life. It makes her feel important.
“And I’m eventually hoping that someday they’re gonna use the language in a way that makes themselves really proud, like being able to travel and communicate,” Conley said.
Just by walking into Conley’s classroom students and staff can feel the comfort and enjoyment of everyone in there.
“I enjoy Mrs. Conley’s class, it’s fun and a good way to start my day,” Spanish 2 student Cora Cockerham said.
What makes Conley a favorite teacher for many is her fun activities in her classroom. Whether it’s using her collection of fake foods or seeing her in her Duolingo mask, there’s always something to look forward to.
Many teachers are role models, mentors, and a large influence on their student’s lives. Conley has dedicated her career to becoming all three.
