Scholarships fund futures

The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation (DSACF) offers 21 scholarships to local students to help pay for college. The scholarships cover a wide variety of fields of study.

“This area is bountiful with scholarships and everyone can find something that applies to them,” said DSACF employee David Hammer.

When applying, students have to fill out an application and meet specific requirements for each scholarship.

The FOX 21 Strength in the Community Scholarship offers twelve grants to students for anywhere from one to four years, with their value ranging from $1,000 to $5,000.

“It may seem like a lot of effort but students may never know how many people they’re up against, so it’s always worth it,” Hammer said.

The DSACF community foundation is a non-profit and donates money to people in need through various businesses. They are a hub for local scholarships and serve around ten counties in the Twin Ports area.
